Are expected changes happening?
Sentinel indicator monitoring uses primarily, but not exclusively, quantitative data to monitor a limited set of sentinel indicators across the portfolio theory of change (TOC). The indicators tie closely to the TOC critical assumptions and track whether expected changes are happening. Sentinel indicators combined with qualitative findings across the portfolio are intended to signal investment areas that could benefit from further investigation.
